A Beautiful Way to Honor a Furry Friend: A Senior Dog Photoshoot

Lasting memories for years to come

As our beloved four-legged friends age, pet owners can honor their senior dogs through a photoshoot. A senior dog photoshoot is a great way to capture the beauty and loyalty of your elderly pup in an artistic and meaningful way. Not only will you be celebrating your pet’s life, but it’ll also create a lasting memory you can look back on for years to come.

Mochi’s session highlights the love her family has for her

Location considerations for a senior dog

Mochi’s family requested the shoot to capture their love and connection.  Since Mochi is 14, our plan focused on keeping her mobility in mind for location.  We ended up choosing a local park that was easy access for parking and large open areas for greenery and large trees.  The deep browns and greens made for a beautiful backdrop for her light coat.  What I loved most was seeing her boys love on her.  As they grow older, they will always have these memories to look back on as the dog who helped raise them during their younger years.

Working with families and creating forever memories with their furry family member is so meaningful and fun!!  While I generally post images of solo dog shots, I do enjoy when the family wants to join in.  This shoot was no exception and I was honored to be able to work with such a beautiful and loving family.

Why you should choose a Pet photographer

When you decide to work with a professional pet photographer, you are choosing to work with someone that is well versed in dog behavior to make the experience dog focused and safe for your pooch.  They can help bring out your pup’s personality and show off their unique beauty.

Whether your goal is to have fun portraits taken of them or document their final years together, a senior dog photoshoot can result in some priceless images that will last a lifetime. Pet photographers, like me, understand just how special these animals are and use their skillset to create photo masterpieces worthy of honoring them properly.  I’d say, Mochi’s family will cherish these images as a moment in time when they were living their best life, together.
