You don’t want the only memories of your dog trapped in the digital abyss

as a dog mom, you know

Dog is life

Your camera roll is 50 shades of your dog.  While the hundreds or thousands of images (hey, I don’t judge) may showcase your furry pal, none of them really do justice to who your dog really is.

Or Maybe…

You’re feeling frustrated

The only images of the two of you are awkward selfies cutting off your face, or blurred because your good boy couldn’t handle sitting for just ONE second.  Licking your face is so much more fun, mom!

You have the “look-away-when-the-camera-comes-out” type of friend who dodges your camera like a  professional ninja (Seriously…how does she ALWAYS know?)

And that “live” photo option on your phone just can’t save the day.

in the words of a dog whisperer

I’m here to say “tsch” to your thoughts that this can’t be done.

Every wag of a tail, playful leap, and heartwarming snuggle CAN be captured.  And I’ve made it my mission to help you get it done, even if your dog can’t hold a sit.

But My dog is too…

reactive

shy

Hyper

I get it!  But I’m here to tell you that 99% of dogs photographed are LEASHED.  Safety is my top priority.

With editing tools we can make your floofy boy appear as though he held that pose like he was top of his class in obedience school.

We take our time during our session and let your dog guide the process so you little wall flower has time to warm up without any expectation of performing in any way. I’ve got a shy boy myself so I’ve mastered slow and steady.

oh hey!

I’m Val and I’m pet obsessed just like you.

School Psychologist turned Pet Photographer.  I realized the power of pet images in boosting positive moods when working with students and how portraits of my own dogs bring wellness to my home.

I’m on a mission to help the pet obsessed parents bring more joy to their home and hearts through custom designed wall art featuring their most loved four legged family member.

I’m spreading wellness like an Oprah giveaway, where every client gets the chance to create stunning artwork that compliments their decor in every way possible - “This wall gets a portrait and this wall gets a portrait! EVERY wall gets a portrait!”

But Fur Real, we know the happiness our pets bring, let’s make that feeling last long after they are gone.

FAQs

Fetch answers to frequently asked questions here

  • No worries! I’ve worked with all sorts of dogs from timid and shy to energetic and easily distracted. I come with my bag of tricks to get the best out of your pup.

  • I’m glad you noticed this! Say hello to the magic of photoshop! Most of the dogs I work with stay on their lead, or I provide one to use. The safety of your pet is of utmost importance to me and I would never put them in harm's way. I only ask that you choose a flat collar for ease of editing later. Harnesses can be a pain to edit out so I prefer no harnesses for our sessions, if possible.

  • We will work together in our planning session we’ll discuss everything about your dog beforehand so that we can determine the best location. I’ve got a few spots that are more secluded for our loud and proud dogs.

  • Great question! In our planning session we will review everything you need to know so that you and your dog are camera ready.

  • If we have not yet had our image reveal session, fear not! Even the most wiggly of butts and shy/nervous dogs have been known to peer at my lens during our shoot long enough for me to get the shot! The fast shutter speed I use picks up way more than you think. However, if you are not satisfied with the images at your reveal we will work together to schedule a re-shoot.

  • So glad you asked! While your dog is all the focus, I love capturing the special moments between you and your bestie. I encourage all pet parents to join in the fun because the story of your connection can end up being some of your favorite images in your collection.

  • I am so sorry to hear! Please reach out to me and I will try my best to work you into the schedule quickly.

  • Absolutely! Cats are generally photographed in the home, where they are most comfortable. Within our consultation session, we will cover everything about your cat so I know how to approach them purrfectly.
